Living Our Love Out Loud

The flaming chalice stands in the center of a table positioned in front of the blond-wood podium.

The Flaming Chalice

This primary symbol of our faith represents the flame of hope, the light of reason, the warmth of community, and more. We light it at the beginning of our services and meetings to remember why we gather.

Hands are pictured close-up as they busily work at cutting and arranging flowers in a ceramic vase.

Our Shared Values focus on the day-to-day practice of our faith as we balance freedom of belief with community responsibility.

As Pagans, Atheists, Buddhists, Christians, Humanists, Agnostics, Freethinkers, and more, we seekers have found a supportive and progressive spiritual home. As we march for human rights and share potluck meals, we create Beloved Community–a safe place to support each other along our spiritual journeys.

Deeds, not Creeds

Two white-haired congregants smile broadly as they stand shoulder-to-shoulder holding banners announcing their church and its Values.

Our Values

As Unitarian Universalists we share these Values, centered in Love:

  • Interdependence: We honor the interdependent web of all existence and acknowledge our place in it.

  • Pluralism: We are all sacred beings, diverse in culture, experience, and theology.

  • Justice: We work to be diverse multicultural Beloved Communities where all feel welcome and can thrive.

  • Transformation: We adapt to the changing world.

  • Generosity: We cultivate a spirit of gratitude and hope.

  • Equity: We declare that every person is inherently worthy and has the right to flourish with dignity, love, and compassion.

Our Covenants

Our congregation has developed agreements on who we are and how we will treat each other.

  • We encourage and support individual freedom of religious beliefs for all.

  • We share in a loving ministry each for the other; and thereby provide for our emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.

  • We are dedicated to providing religious education for our children which will enhance the positive worth of each child.

  • We will strive toward social responsibility with the purpose of strengthening an individual commitment to self, congregation and community.

  • We will seek the truth to enlighten and acknowledge human accomplishments and possibilities.

Our Covenant of Purposes

Love is the spirit of this church, and service its prayer.

We covenant to honor all spiritual paths with hospitality.

To assume the best of one another from our highest selves,

To dwell together in peace through kindness,

And to serve others with compassion,

Honoring one another as members of Beloved Community.
